Much as I dislike the Bully Boys' sense of entitlement which encounters hoi polloi only when they're cowering behind counters as their workplaces are smashed up, I'm with Cameron on this one.
The SNP is not running for UK Governance, and the Fish-heid is not being blocked from a Scotland-wide debate. His petulance and totalitarian hissy-fit in threatening legal action proves why, like most of Scotland, he is a disgrace to Scotland.
Alec: Surely an hour on Prime Time is a party political broadcast that no politician would pass up.
Most PPBs are 2-3 minutes, 5 at most, and most people use the time to put the kettle on or relieve themsleves. Pople are likely to watch this, and it will ahve an influence on how they vote.
It's only fair that the second largest party in Scotland be represented in our country.
I need a dose of reality subrosa... Seriously, this issue has really polarised opinion with normally small l liberal Englishmen(and women GV ;¬) failing to grasp just how unfair and undemocratic a show without Alex would be.
It goes without saying that no serious politico would pass such an opportunity up. It's Salmond's response to being told "I want doesn't get" which is disreputable.
I would like a date with Hadise, but I'm not going to block Turkish broadcasting if I don't get one.
Salmond is not standing for Westminster (and should have stepped down before). I would view his sense of entitlement with margionally less derision if he were putting forward Angus Robertson.
Ok Alec consider this: You don't want AS to appear on the "national" leadership debate.
However AS is the leader of a party that wants Scotland independent. That'll impact of the UK wont it? By god it will. And do you think for one minute that every Tom, Dick and Westmidden idiot from Boris to Georgous George wont want their tuppence worth on why we ungrateful jocks should never get to rule themselves? Well if I have to live with the shit that these monkeys churn out; telling me that my countrymen and women are useless, too wee and too poor, too violent and too stupid to govern ourselves. Might I respectfully suggets that you having to put up with an hour of AS - when your beloved unionist leaders can get the chance to question him at close quarters and you can scoff at his replies is nothing to the years of crap I've had to listen to from Unionists parties and their lickspittals.
Nothing personal old chap. I just get mad when people talk democracy but then have that attitude that denying roughly 30% of your countrymen and women a voice to debate elements of its future, is a good thing! That road leads to perdition.

And I'm the leader a party which wants Alec to get a date with Hadise. So what?
Perhaps if Salmond were offering the leader of the Westminster group to the debate, or if the SNP were a majority party at Holyrood this would look margionally less like his ego talking and a desire for totalitarian control.
I have never understood why The Scotsman is so rabidly biased against the SNP. What's the history? When I first came North of the Border I dutifully bought the paper in the hope of being enlightened, only to find that it contained stories like "Salmond opens Christmas Fair in defiance of Pagans" or "SNP capitulates over free School Meals after pressure from Labour", "Salmon in expenses row over stapler and seal-easy envelopes" You get the drift?
WW, when I was young it was the Edinburgh paper and supported the tories. Of course, now the tories are no longer in Scotland it decided to go with labour (even although the Herald had always leaned towards labour).
The various editors over the years have been staunch unionists and refused to give the SNP any column inches unless they were detrimential to the party.
Perhaps others could fill you in better, that's just as I see it.

OK next time I'll label Conan 'reality satire' BL.
You're all fingers and thumbs today by the looks of it. :)
A disgrace to Scotland Alec? I don't think so, not according to the population.
Even some tories think he's by far the best politician we have in Holyrood. Yes, I know that surprises you, it did me too. :)

I know how it feels Conan, endless lies churned out and it's true, unless you're strong, you begin to believe them.
GV will appreciate your effort at equality I'm sure. :)
