Ireland carries great responcibility for a wee nation.

Good stuff Edwin. We can't stop now though, we have to continue to publicise the NO vote.

Aye it does indeed scunnert. Hey scunnert, I've just realised I didn't put a thank you to you for the video. So sorry. That's what I get for doing things half asleep for later publication.

I'll go and amend it.

That's my girl. Publicity is what they do not want, right now!

We should also remind our Irish friends that a yes vote could also be a vote for Tony Bliar to become the first EU president.

What a horrible thought.

Nae probs Subrosa - it's in the public domain and I can't claim ownership. Just glad you thought it worthy of "paying it forward."

Subrosa, While I normally value your opinions on issues, you are completely wrong on this issue.

Things have changed since the last treaty. We are now gaurenteed a commssioner if we vote YES and not if we vote no.

Irish Neutrality will not be affected by the Lisbon Treaty. Ireland is one of six neutral countries in the EU. So Lisbon will not change anything and the legally binding gaurentees set that out.

Those cases can be overturned with the charter (which UK has opt-out on so therefore Irish Workers have better rights then UK Workers)

Ireland needs to votes YES to ensure its future and no vote will be regressive and bad for Ireland and Europe!

Stephen says:

"Things have changed since the last treaty. We are now gaurenteed a commssioner [sic] if we vote YES and not if we vote no."

Are you asserting that if Ireland votes for the status quo the EU will disqualify Ireland from having a commissioner? Tosh!

Did you read Edwin's link OR? Even the Times are onto it at last.

Stephen you lovely Irishman, as far as I know not a word has been changed in the Lisbon Treaty and until the changes are in the document, I wouldn't trust the EU further than I can run.

All the present opt-outs will be swept aside over time and this bunch of bureaucrats will ride over every country in it. The whole thing is geared towards Germany and France and that's Germans, who are all for it, who have given me that information.

The Lisbon Treaty needs to be rehashed and Ireland is the only chance there is left. So many countries have been refused referendums on it so there's rather a lot of faith in the Irish to vote NO.

You'll disagree I'm sure but that's the feeling here with my friends. We could be wrong of course.

Eire will survive in a NEW EU constitution. In fact a new one will very probably see it fare much better.

Very good point Dubbie, very good indeed. There's no time limit on the post as EU president I don't think (I'm not that sure though), so we could have Blair there for years.

Just had a thought. Maybe Bliar as EU president could help us with independence.

We would need to get out of the UK as it would be the only way we could get out of Europe if Bliar was there.

I know Alex Salmond is a fan of the EU and SNP policy is to join, but surely Bliar would make even AS think twice about EU membership.

I am a Euro dont know myself, why get rid of one big brother to get another? Open to argument though. Bliar would convince me to be totally against though.

I fall on the side of the No to the EU bunch Dubbie. I'd prefer us to be part of the European Council such as the Scandanavian countries, rather than have both feet and all eggs in the one basket.
