Holyrood Parliament - Ministerial Statement on the Megrahi Decision

This afternoon at 2.30pm in the Scottish Parliament, there is to be a Ministerial Statement by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice on the decision on Mr Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi.

As I cannot find this in television schedules, I thought readers who were interested would like to know it can be viewed on Holyrood Live TV. Takes a few minutes to connect so I suggest you log on about 5 minutes beforehand. For those of you who haven't used the site before you're looking for the live stream in Chamber Live.

On a lighter note, doesn't the Parliament look good from the air? Now I can see the 'upturned boats' the architect talked about. Shame the public don't see that angle, but perhaps the parliament should organise helicopter flights for say £1 a head.

Excellent. I was thinking of watching. Sky may stream it as well.

Aye right enough Howard never thought of that.

So if we can get 414 million helicopter rides at no cost we can get back the cost of the building. Shouldn't take long!

Well what about £.150 FL? Should be quicker at that price. :)

Subrosa, the cheapest of helicopter flights seem to cost about £30 - £50 for 15 minutes. Are you suggesting that some of our scarce public money should be spent on subsidising these flights?

If so, I'd be very surprised, given that you're normally so careful about the way in which public money is spent.

BTW, I'm in a playful mood and my tongue is wedged firmly in cheek:-)

I actually think that from the outside the Parliament is the ugliest building ever - being inside it is great cos it's beautiful and you can't see the outside - a total win/win.

Good on Malcolm, honourable as ever.

The Parliament is genuine proof that distance lends enchantment to the view.

Yes Conan, always a man I've respected.

Well I wouldn't call it enchanting brownlie... :)

Alternatively, tethered hot air balloons.

All we have to do is work out where the hot air will come from...

McChatterer, even I could answer that. :)
