What a Nippy Sweetie

Thanks to Iain Dale, who nails the characteristics a Speaker should have and those which Mr Bercow seems to lack.

Hopefully Mr Speaker will view this video and realise he must provide a more friendly public persona.

Note: I believe he flipped homes in the past but of course he's not going to do it again. His salary has increased to a figure many people can only dream of and he now has one of the most desirable grace and favour homes in London.

For those readers who don't know the meaning of 'nippy sweetie', in Scotland it is an irritable sharp-tongued person. The term is an extended use of the original meaning which was a sweetie which had a relatively sharp or tart flavour.

Don't fall for it. Dale and his mates on the Tory right will do anything to undermine Barcow.

Great minds, SR! This shows why I find it difficult to warm to Bercow; in fact, let's be honest, I've never liked him.

Seems rather arrogant to me.
I always thought a nippie sweetie was either an SNP Health Minister or up here in Aberdeen it used to be a bottle of Sweetheart Stout and a nip taken of course for your good health.

Niko, Iain Dale only posted the video, he's not the focus of it.

Obviously you're not impressed by Dale and think Bercow's attitude is fine Howard. I disagree though, he could have been far more pleasant.

Aye GV, I think he needs a couple of lessons in You're a Public Servant not a Celebrity.

His minder I think Conan. Don't they all have minders in Westminster? Dare we call them child minders?

Ha ha Fitaloon. The definition was from the online Scots dictionary and what I always thought it meant. True Ms Sturgeon has been called it in the past.

The Aberdonian definition sounds rather appealing though.

I'm not a Bercow fan (yet), but where's the start of the interview? It didn't strike me that the interviewer came over particularly well either (but it was only a minute of video)...

Haven't seen the beginning Mek, sorry. There was another clip on This Week a few minutes ago and Bercow didn't do well in that either.
