A Falklands Remembrance

2 April 1982 - 14 June 1982

My thanks to CallingEngland

Update: GoodnightVienna has just commented that there was no ministerial or Royal representation at the official ceremony for the 225 dead in Pangbourne today. What a disgrace.

SR, I've just found out that there was no Ministerial or Royal representation at the official Remembrance Service for the 255 British dead this morning (in Pangbourne). Words fail me - it just beggar's belief.

Really GV? I didn't think the establishment could fall any further, but this goes to show how wrong I can be.

A disgrace. I'll put an update on my post.

That is an outrage.

Remember and never forget those brave men.

Hello Admiral. One thing America can show Britain is how to respect their war dead. We've lost that in this day of greed and selfishness.

SubRosa even on this side of pond the lefties are making it harder every year. I just cannot understand it. How could you just forget these soldiers and their sacrifices like that?

Admiral, most civilians in the UK, if they have no connection with the military, choose to ignore the Forces. It's mainly people with military backgrounds or family who show respect.

The fact not one of our senior elected representatives or any royalty attended this formal event shows how our society here in the UK is broken.

Plenty sympathy for a fireman or police officer who gets killed in the line of duty though. Maybe it's because they're far more in the public's eye, I don't know the answer.

225 died and many many more were seriously disabled after this short war.
