It appears, even from the BBC, that the SNP have performed extremely well tonight in the European elections. Astonishingly they came equal with labour in Fife, the heartlands of the Prime Minster. Others are live blogging so I shan't start quoting figures.
Well done to all these activists who worked so hard. Each and every one of you is important to the independence cause.

As an active SNP member (even in deepest Engerland) I offer my congratulations to all who made those results possible. All that remains to be achieved in the immediate future is for decent folk to heave overboard the corrupt remains of this discredited UK New Labour administration in Westmidden.
The decks need to be cleared so folk who have Scotland's interests first and formost have a clear field of fire at the next incoming Westmidden administration who will have other considerations and other priorities than wee, regional,Scotland's concerns and needs.
...and we mustn't forget that before the first vote is even cast in the next general election, all three main Westmidden political parties have been proven to be tainted and ridden with corruption despite their protests of innocence in wrong doing.
...and yet despite the departure and impending departure of a despicable few. Nothing of note has changed apart from platitudes of reform will be implimented by those very people associated with sleaze, unaccountability, incompetance and down right buggery of respectable folk who placed their trust in them and in Westmidden in the first place.
With regard to the SNP and Europe.
We are not merely sending tea boys and shelf stackers of regional branch office c/o Westmidden to Europe when the SNP represent us. They are in fact ambassadors for Scotland in all but name. Representing us and our interests and concerns without the convuluted attentions and distractions of other considerations of Westmidden's special interests and their somewhat lopsided, dubious 'common purpose' demands.

Tom, your last paragraph rings true in my ears, I bleed for the decimation of our fishing waters and industry in "Westmiddens" interest, for the greater good.
Let us hope this is yet another step forward towards self determination and Independence.

Jayne Kennedy, a junior minister has resigned.
She was asked to make a "pledge of Loyalty" to Gordon and could not give it so resigned.
A "Pledge of Loyalty", not to the Labour Party and not to people of this country, the voters, but to Gordon Brown!
Says it all really.

BGBG. What? A pledge of loyalty to that nutter? What on earth is it coming to? Well done to the woman for resigning her ministerial car, salary and red boxes. At least there are a few with some intergrity (although I've never heard of her before).
All the Scottish results are in now Billy. Radio 5 Live has spoken about them for all of 3 minutes I think so we've not been forgotten :)
Was a great night for the SNP and only in 3 areas the SNP came behind Labour.
Great result in Dundee for the SNP and the SNP also won in Leith after the Libs said it was between them and Labour..

Had a spell on inshore boats and an occasional trip on the deep sea boats.CD.
Still get my ticket renewed, for the occasional bus man's trip. I know lads and lassies whose lives and careers have been wrecked by those Westmidden cretins.
Although living in England, I 've engaged in many a raid over the border to engaged in mischief and mayhem against our lords and masters. Oh aye, and had many a kind invitation from the courts to come and visit themselves too.Ye see that mad Sheriff at Dingwall, Jimmy Fraser ; himself even hired an aeroplane on one occasion and organised a dawn raid on my home in Coventry,lifted under warrant and carted off in handcuffs to have bed and breakfast at HM's hostellry and then given a 'rendition 'flight from Birmingham international to Inverness Airport then escorted to Dingwall to stand trial for a very serious crime allegedly. I owed somebody a £4.30 bridge toll apparently. Seventeen minutes later, ah was oot the court a free man with not a stain on my record.
Sheriff Fraser nearly had a fit at the afront to his dignity at his prey escaping. Quite, Quite mad and bad so he was.
As for Proculator Fiscal Hingston, weel, he just had a nervous breakdown. LOL.
Aye, cost a fair bit siller, yon farce did and they had nothing to show for their efforts except embarrasment.

Smashing photos Tom, I've just been giving some friends a slide show because they were keen supporters (from afar) of the lifting of the Skye Bridge tolls and all other tolls.
I've stacks of photos taken over the years at the campaigning on this and that.
...and video footage.
Still got my video camera though it's a bit battered now.
It was involved in a tug of war once. Between myself and a bluidy big polis man.
The polis don't take kindly to folk filming them, filming folk.
that's for sure. LoL.
Had a wee bit of involvement on the Erskine bridge too.
That was a classic yon when we found out that their license to collect tolls had run out of date and they were collecting tolls illegally.
Aye, and a few folk reminded the powers that it is a serious offence to demand and collect tolls without lawful authority,
...and on being found guilty of such an offence the fine being up to a £1000 per perpretration.
The law is the law, donch ye know and being ignorant of it is no excuse.
...and so that was that then.
Then there was the time I took a trip to a Dunfermline by election.
With more than a few hundred copies of acquired memos and paper work stating that yon Forth bridge company were going to severely raise the tolls shortly.
...and with the conivance of sneaky New Labour an aw.
So Labour had their tea, then at yon bye bye election.
Pity it was a Fib dem that sneaked in. Still there's no accounting for taste amongst some Fife folk, then and now.

Lovely story Tom. I'm saying nothing about Fifers being a Dundonian but my father, who was a canny man, when he thought someone was a bit of a yes man used to say 'he could be a Fifer you know'.
