Poor wee Dougie, sidelined by Lord Mandelson. After all these years of scurrying around in the bowels of No 11 then No 10, carrying out his mentor's bidding, saying 'yes Gordon, no Gordon, three bags full Gordon', Douglas Alexander has not been included in Mandelson's new kitchen cabinet. The G8, as it has been nicknamed, leaves out three of Brown's most faithful and loyal supporters who are senior ministers - Ed Miliband the Climate Change Secretary, Nick Brown the Chief Whip and Douglas Alexander the International Development Secretary. It will meet each Monday to discuss policy. The cabinet can be called the RSC now (the Rubber Stamping Cabinet).
The absence of Mr Alexander, in particular, is raising eyebrows as he is in charge of strategy for Labour's general election campaign.
Never mind Dougie, you didn't lose your ministerial car and you'll have plenty time to see to the organisation of the postal votes in the English and Scottish by-elections due around September.

lol . . .nice one! Personally I think he's a waste of space! I'm more surprised about Ed Milliband to be honest! He won't be pleased with that!
Morning TP, of course he's a waste of space but his daddy is a pal of Gordon's and because his daddy is also a minister that makes Douglas and his equally obnoxious sister Wendy children of the manse. Can you see where I'm going with this?
Douglas Alexander is one of Brown's proteges. The only reason this has created any journalistic space is because Dougie is labour's election manager.
I don't think Ed Miliband is one of Brown's proteges do you? He seems to be a different kettle of fish to his brother.
SR,
He's a toadying little shit with no experience of life other than being protected by Uncle Cyclops and the IHS lot!
He's made DFID more incompetent and unaccountable to the UK taxpayer, typical, let's give other countries £8.3 Billion to waste and not concern ourselves that many in Scotland are still in poverty and we slash the budget by £500 Million - even though we made the poverty worse to keep them voting for the poisonous monkey party!

Crazy D
Back into the shadows, I guess, Subrosa!
Yoohoo CD. He's a perfect example of the saying 'jobs for the boys' isn't he.
And it's true what you say about DFID becoming the world's charity bank.
OR I look forward to visiting you later today for your exciting unveiling!
Disgusting little man and got what he deserved. He is Labours problem, negative, plots, smears and yet he runs their election rabbles..
Aye Spook but will be be booted out on his presbyterian backside when the general election comes?
