Well Done Pete!

Pete Wishart, Perth and North Perthshire MP, yesterday published his London living expenses online for public viewing.  He has also announced he is holding a public meeting in Perth next week to discuss all the issues surrounding MPs' allowances.

The SNP MP said, "My constituents will find that I own no London property, claimed for no household furnishings and there is nothing from any John Lewis list.  They will also find that I personally paid nearly all my utility bills and council tax out of my own pocket."

Mr Wishart's expenses can be found at www.petewishartmp.com and it's a smart website.

Well done Pete, I hope others follow your example.

Well done Peter,

However let me be honest, as an MP who represents a Scottish consituency, I have no issue from the public purse of helping with your rent, a utility bill, an odd furnishing here and there, resonable travel costs providing a proper receipt is submitted. What I DO object to is flipping, you keeping the profits from home sales as the market rises, * grand TV satellite combos, persian rugs, dry rot in your boyfriends seaside weekend retreat.............not a reflection on you Peter personally but a cheap shot at your side kicks in Westminster.

But hey thats what 2 and a bit weeks of Daily Telegraph revelations does for you!!!!
You heard it all a thousand time before and will do for a wee bit longer to come me thinks!

Morning SR trust all is well in SR Towers.

I have to say Pete Wishart is my MP and he's a very hard working man.

Pete I knew as a student. A great guy then, and nothing he has done since then (apart from the odd dodgy Runrig track!)has caused me to revise that opinion

Well done Pete. I think it is important we know who has fiddled and who hasn't.

SR,

Yes he is, you should hook up to his Facebook profile too, which is very informative.

Much grumbling in Gordon and in particular the High St in Peterhead "that Salmond isn't doing enough for his constituents", perhaps some of the 140k needs more direct targeting?!

He's a credit to the SNP scunnert and this will be remembered by his constituents. Even one of my tory friends told me this morning she was impressed.

Absolutely - well done, Pete.

Now, let's sharpen out pitchforks for the others.

SR,

A very honourable man and an ex member of my fave band - Runrig. Anyway, he explaine din detail onhis Facebook page about this, I recommend it to you, he is the example of what humility and servitude to ones constituency is.

Anthony Steen is an idiot and doesn't deserve a mention on the same page - I'm going to throw some cat pooh over the wall into his beloved garden next time I'm down Totnes way, in a few weeks!

Bravo Zulu to Pete.

subrosa,

Excellent example for all politicians to follow.

I sent you a long rant about care homes but it must have got lost in the blogosphere.

Please send it again Brownlie. Things have been rather strange on the blogosphere for the past few days. Merci xx

Oh forgot to say CD, the 'new' Runrig have a concert at Scone Palace the last Saturday in August. Doubt if you'll get a ticket though because I've heard it's booked out.

Just thought I'd let you know :)

Vronsky I'm doing ma' best but acquiring the indignation of some SNP members. It is not my intention to be negative regarding the SNP, I thought my comments would perhaps have made them realise what a coupe it would be for them to put expenses online NOW.

MP pledges to give London flat profit to charity"ANY profits from the future sale of his one-bedroom flat in London will be repaid to the public purse and distributed among good causes in Moray, the area's MP has vowed. Angus Robertson's pledge comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Westminster MPs' expenses claims.

"The SNP Westminster leader said this was always his intention but felt compelled to make this known publicly in the current climate."

Well I'm pleased to hear it G Campbell but the SNP really has missed a trick here. Sad but true.

I often wonder when Pete looks across the chamber in the Commons if he's reminded of the line in one of the RunRigs songs
"The higher up the monkey climbs the more he reveals".

SR,

I knew over 2 years ago when I was up to ma oxters in mud at Borlum Farm! Scone is bonnie but the whole logistics festival thing doesn't make Mrs Daisy happy!

And Bruce has been singing for Runrig for over 10 years they're different than to when Donnie was lead singer, but that is a whole discussion bigger than politics!
