Andy Murray is now rated world number 3 in the tennis world, the first time anyone from Britain has achieved such status. I'm delighted and not just because he's a Scot. He has shown admirable tenacity in his desire to be the best and I'm positive he will continue to bring much pleasure to tennis watchers. Would I be biased if I said he could well make it to number one?
Congratulations young man and lang may yer bat hit the ba'.

Nadal is a feckin machine that never stops. He will be hard to beat. Federer seemingly can't do it anymore. Can Andy?
As an aside - I used to post on the Sunday Herald as Andy Murray and got a lot of flak for using that name - LoL.
SR,
Dinnae ken aboot No.1. that Spanish loon is fair handie wi a tennis bat!
Joking aside, I hope he wins Wimbledon in the next few years, perhaps after we're Independent, that would make him Scottish and the EBC couldn't label him otherwise!
Crazy D
So it wis you posing as ma favourite sportsman on the Scotsman forums scunnert? lol
True Nadal will be hard to beat. I don't like his style of tennis though it can be boring because, as you say, it's mechanised. I was going to say in the post that Andy brought a bit of the 'human' aspect back to the game but then thought my English readers would think I really was going OTT. :)
Rosa - it is just a matter of time before Mr Murray wins a Grand Slam Title, after that - who knows?
Being ranked number one in the world of tennis is well within his capability- so you would not be biased in your assertion IMHO
Thank you BD, glad you think so. Poor lad, he got a rough ride from the English and I hope they start backing him or Wimbledon won't be great for him.
As an added and brilliant bonus he's a Hibbee as well!
Brownlie, everyone has to have a fault and I've made allowances for that with Andy.
