Craig Murray has organised a petition to the Queen asking her to dissolve Parliament.  Please sign it here.

Hmmm. Sorry to disappoint but HMQ will not get involved and Craig Murray should know better. Labour has a mandate and that is that. The Palace will only intervene (very discretely) if Labour losses a vote of no confidence and then fails to go the country.

However, after this week I am convinced that there should be an election and posted about this on my blog.

Good petition. Better to ask the Queen to act than Gordon Brown to resign. He is too deluded and arrogant.

I think it's more of a gesture Howard rather than an official demand.

subrosa,

The problem could be that politicians could retaliate by querying Queenie's own expenses and that incurred by the other parasites such as Andrew and his daughters.

Craig Murray will know perfectly well that the Queen will not get involved (nor should she). In the same way, I suspect that the originator of the petition to get Brown to resign will know that he won't bow to that kind of public opinion.

It's a gesture. Another way to tell them how much we despise them, and a dig, perhaps, at Harry Harman's Court of Public Opinion, much vaunted over sleaze in banking and never mentioned over the same stuff at Westminster.

I've signed it!

The last thing Her majesty needs is being dragged into this mess.

HMQ cannot dissolve parliament, and those type of powers were stripped from the monarchy over 200 years ago. BUT, if she detects that the public mood is 'as it is' so to speak, she may have words with Cyclops during their weekly meeting and make her feelings known. She's no idiot ;-) I'll definitely sign ;-)

That was going to be a post today Brownlie, when I get half an hour to write it.

The Queen's keeping a close eye on it all Niko. She's already had the head of the B o England in and the head of the Army.

A far better explanation than mine tris, thanks.
