I thought her overall performance was good. She was a little weak at the start - nerves I'm sure - but got it together within the first few bars. The audience loved her and that's what really counts. Having actually faced audiences I can tell you it ain't easy. Well done Susan.

Morning Baron, aye she has something few possess these days. I'll say that twice too :)

One of my pals who follows all these types of shows, phoned last night. She said "It was just jitters" so that's all then scunnert. Nerves I think because her breathing was obviously shallow, but it shows the inner strength of the woman, when she balanced it quickly.

She has such a lovely manner CD indeed. I'm looking forward to Saturday now.

No day off here and no places seems closed. Don't think many in Scotland take this holiday these days.

Enjoy your free time Sir :)

I find it slightly irritating when they come out with this crap about her "looking" beautiful. Bullshit. Her appeal is that she looks very, very unpretty and yet sings rather well, thereby confounding prejudices.

She satisfies our desire for life to be a case of "anyone can". If she were pretty, or even simply plain, then she wouldn't evince those "she's done it, she's shown them" admiring thoughts we have. But looking beautiful? Please!

IPP....Piers was accurate as far as I am concerned. Beauty is much more than having sculpted cheek bones and nice bumps. Susan has beauty in her aura that she projects and how she commands instant respect when she sings. There is a beauty in her natural innocence.

If you look at the work of artists down the ages Susan is very similar in physical appearance to what was consisdered beautiful by some.

In these troubled times she is a very welcome inspiration to many and deserves her success.

How sad would it be if this lady was judged on her looks. She has a lovely smile and appears to have to be very pleasant. Good luck to her.

Oh IPP, I feel chastened. All these years I've been told I'm beautiful and I'm possibly plain ugly. Time for the shredder methinks.

Like Brownlie, I agree her smile is her biggest asset because it's a genuine 'from the soles of her feet' smile.

KbW, as long as she is happy doing what she's doing that's what matters. That creates the extra something.

I think Susan will win the the whole program. Okay i admit i would prefer an act like Divercity to win but (my little sis and my other half make me watch the prof on itv2) but she has a great voice.

She has already one and she never looks to be under any presure. For Scotland but most of all for her, i hope she wins...

how wonderful! i dont watch talent shows, cos most people who go on them have little to zero talent and just want to be on tv. however, susan does have a genuine talent and an amazing voice. good luck, suze! if you dont win, there is something very wrong with the voters.

Well said Spook. I'm sure, with a bit of effort another Diversity could be formed but not a Susan Boyle.

I never watch them either OB for the same reasons as yourself, but I did put the programme on last night. Eventually I realised she wouldn't be on until the end (how stupid can I get a times) but she did it justice and especially under the circumstances.

She has to win or else Simon Cowell loses control of her I believe. It's all in the contract that I can't find on google.
