Many of the commenters on my last post about this incident berate me and suggest the post was attacking the muslim community. It was not. If it had been hindus, catholics, protestants or agnostics who had protested by calling our service personnel killers I would have said the same.
Freedom of speech is one thing, calling our soldiers killers and butchers is another. Our military should be defended from such abuse by all of us and I understand some did do this - much to their credit. Two persons were arrested and neither belonged to the protest group.

What ever gave you the idea that anyone thought your post was Racist ?
Spook I couldn't give a 4X if anyone thinks it was racist. The post was about the intimidation of our soldiers, pure and simple. I said at the end I would fight to protect my own culture ie the Scots culture and I'll do the same for the Scots who join HM forces to protect us.
You say our soldiers weren't bothered - I dispute that. You've no idea what they see and hear when they're in these theatres of war any more than I do, because I've never been there. But I am told some things which I have no reason to disbelieve.
Soldiers have feelings too and the last thing they need are these awful parades which leave them wide open to this type of abuse.
The wider question Spook is what do we want as an independent Scotland? Do we want every minority culture to have an equal say in government or do we want a Scotland which is built on democracy and a sensible voting system? You're the young generation Spook, you'll be making the new Scotland. I'm just defending what we already have because I like it.
After you have been several months in a hostile environment seeing death and destruction and loosing comrades. The last thing you want is a bloody bullshit parade to salve the conscience of the lying politicians who sent you there.
Much better if Blair and Brown would have the courage they so obviously lack and meet the bodies cominmg of the planes as we remember the dead. Much better that we see them meeting the parents of these dead warriors. Rosie Gentle lost her son through the MODs negligence, and indifference.
Did Blair,Brown or the sneering snooty Hoon have the guts to be in the same room as her? Did they fuck.
These deceitful duplicious shits could not lace the boots of one of these warriors or there brave and broken hearted parents.
They are not shy at popping up in some nice safe desert sanger to grin and greet the troops when they feel they need a bit of good publicity. I think if I was in the mob now and one of these shits appeared in front of me I would end up inside. But the people they get to meet are chosen and the ones who would flatten them are sent out on patrol.
