For many, television is their sole entertainment and the BBC have a vast amount of money to spent because of the mandatory licence fee imposed. One suggestion I could give them - that's to stop sending so many staff on reporting missions. If newspapers behaved like that they would have been bankrupt years ago.
I'm still waiting to know the actual numbers of staff who were in the US for the inauguration. Perhaps a FOI letter is the next course of action ...

Interesting solution calicolyst lol. I only want my 9% of the licence fee to be quality TV, not brain-washing content to assist with labour's social engineering policies.
But surely the news isn't legitimate unless a reporter is actually 'on location'? I mean, if Mary Nightingale had't reported the ITV news from Trafalgar Square last night it would have detracted from news values?
Seriously though, I think to an extent the newspapers have followed suit with excess; how much pages and sections did the average paper have thirty years ago?
