Warming News for Climate Change Deniers

My reader Apogee has been kind enough to send the link to one of the top Indian news websites. Most of you who are interested in Climategate will know that Richard North is way ahead of most in his research concerning Rajendra Pachauri, the chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a body which has done its best to convince the world that us humans need to pay vast sums of our hard-earned money to stem the flow of our disgraceful behaviour which is destroying the planet.

The Indian MSM have been rather reluctant to write about Mr Pachauri because he's one of their own and a national icon. He also has a finger or two in big business connected with climate change and some are based in India.

Today, one of India's top sites has the headline 'The Hottest Hoax in the World' and continues: 'It was presented as fact. The UN's IPCC, led by India's very own RK Pachauri, even announced a consensus on it. The world was heating up and humans were to blame. A pack of lies, it turns out.'

It's all over for the carbon footprint money makers. They'll have to think up another way of stripping the taxpaying populations of the world. Next time I just hope people will question rather than accept what's said to them. I don't have much knowledge of the climate (other than a university study I did many years ago about the effects of nuclear power) but I sensed I was being conned. We must refuse to pay 'green' taxes unless they are specifically going towards helping stop pollution which does affect us all and the planet.

You can read the whole article here.

Addendum: Have a read of this and see how only one of the government agencies are attempting to rip us off. Thank goodness I was educated by those who said continual questioning was the route to opinion. Not only are you divulging personal information on these sites but the information is certainly added to government data bases.

I think so too denverthen, Isn't it strange those who called deniers a irritant on the rash of the world aren't to be heard?

As Dan says, excellent news.

Re your MP salary poll, I did one of those a while back, if you're interested (the results haven't been wiped yet).

I thought deniers were to do with the thickness of ladies stockings.

Thank you Mark (Wandsworth). I knew someone had done one some time ago but I couldn't remember who. Now you've jogged my memory so I'm grateful.

You know Mark (Mclauchlan) every time I type deniers I think of my many silk stockings lying redundant in my underwear drawer.

I doesn't seem a good name for us sceptics does it? It certainly takes the gloss of my memories of the enthusiasm suspender belts and stockings used to make upon some of the male population.

Let's think up another name.

No, No, No, SR. You leave the gloss of my memories of suspender belts and stockings alone!!!

Now those really were the days!

On a less serious note - yet another nice post!

In my humble opinion the article referreed to is a polemic and does not really address the science.

Deniers are saying as I understand it that scientists who have been studying climate for decades are all in some grand conspiracy to fiddle their results and hoodwink the rest of mankind!

Of course the theories supporting global warming were initially established in 1824. Maybe its a long running conspiracy!

I tried the government carbon calculator you linked to...

Its interesting to note that they insist on a postcode (not sure how much Co2 that generates? - needless to say, I gave them a random one).

My heating (as it is probably about 1 in 3 houses) is a wood burning stove - run on old pallets from work. It seems that isn't an option HM government know of although I've never met a person with "biomass heating"... which they seem very keen on.

A lot of the questions seem to have precious little to do with carbon usage (e.g. having told them my total annual milage, why would does it make any difference if I use public transport for journeys of under a mile?).

Having entered what is probably the national average car (15K miles a year, 40mpg), I discovered the true purpose of the site - to make me feel guilty about this - as apparently such a car produced a tad over 4 tons of Co2... while the national average is about a 1/3 of that... am I missing something or what?#

I'm sending in some FOIA requests to this motley bunch, as I'd quite like to know how much of my money they have been spending in order to try and send me on a guilt trip about driving to work...

OK I will WfW. Would hate to interfere with anyone's memories. Mine are happy too.;)

Strathturret, climate change has been happening since the planet came into being.

No, the deniers are not saying that. The deniers don't deny climate change, they deny the colossal percentages SOME scientists say is man made.

Unfortunately these 'some' scientists are now being found to have adjusted data, quoted incorrect data etc. The denier scientists are now being heard at long last.

I'm not aware anyone in 1824 said that humans were more or less completely responsible for the destruction of the planet. As many scientists say the world warms and cools naturally.

You know as well as I do that this 'science' is very very recent and publicised to give these carbon footprint businesses some authority.

Carbon footprints etc are a rip off. If they really were not then politicians would be doing this offsetting business.

Isn't it all a con to get information from the public estwdjhn?

Do let me know the responses to your FOI enquiries. Will be very interesting. The website alone possibly cost 6 figures.

Its all over subrosa....just give up its embarrassing to watch a little old confused lady tilting at windmills.

Oh they won't give up Apogee, too much money involved.

Niko, don't speak about your wife like that. It's not gentlemanly.

Green taxes, cap and trade and the whole carbon market will do nothing to mitigate the effects of man-made climate change. From this we begin to see the hand of business to which climate change, and the real and fundamental changes in our economic model that it demands, are anathema. I am astounded to find so called intelligent people indulging in such dangerous departure from common sense. Lets not forget that climate change is only one vector in the downward spiral that our biosphere is experiencing. We must also acknowledge resource depletion, rampant pollution, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, peak oil and the obvious logical absurdity of an economic model predicated on exponential growth in an environment that is finite. If some of the scientists studying climate change have streched facts or held back some data this must be seen in the context of the David and Goliath struggle that such information and its proponents must engage in with the moneyed interests that would lay waste our world.

subrosa said...

Climate change is natural, or at least 98% natural Selma, but you know as well as I do that using it as a weapon with which to beat the masses into handing over their hard earned cash is the aim.

Your other factors don't make big bucks but most who have been sceptical about this climate change hype would agree they are more important.

Follow the money right enough.

It's a pity the Masters of Spin couldn't manage a real service to our hemisphere by making the winters shorter and the summers a damn sight longer.

The problem is not the science. its when science is corrupted by, then taken over by politics; and doubtful forecasts and statistics can be used by mendacious politicians(of all ilks) to create time-spanned rhetorical promises. Where by the time the 'paradise' is due to manifest, the politico snake oil salesmen have feathered their nests with green-backs and toddled off to anonymity or death.

Remember for the spienmiesters any spin will do provided they can add to the squeeze they put on us.

And for those of us who advocate for Scotland's independence renewable's are an important factor that's enhanced by the same spin.

To control, audit and minimise pollution is sensible. To create a crises and develop it into a drama for cash is plain bloody stupid.

However it is a formula that has been tried, tested and proven to work in the last 60years - Cold War - War of Terror - Global Warming; each have added a little to the refinement, a little fine tuning to the thumbscrews of abuse as practiced by our governments.

subrosa said...

Yes I'm all for pollution control Crinkly as I think it's the most important aspect in all this but I agree Scotland has to watch the hype concerning renewables.

Something to keep a close eye on and to bring Mr Salmond up short if he overdoes the vocals.

"Not only are you divulging personal information on these sites but the information is certainly added to government data bases."

Doesn't have to be a real postcode, it accepted "no".

Told the truth, but at the end still got preached at - told to replace fridge and even to use a washing line, when had already input that we don't have a tumble drier!

subrosa said...

I was preach at too Mrs R. It's all a ploy for us to spend more money and join the types of groups which don't like meat eaters or folk who have gas central heating.
