Update on Gordon's Saviour of the World Award

Thanks to Prodicus who has discovered that, although Gordon and Sarah Brown were listed as guests on the tickets for the event given by the Appeal of Conscience Foundation in the US, the Prime Minister was only there for 15 minutes.

This left the $1,000 a head gathering dumbfounded.

A No 10 spokesman said Gordon Brown had never been due to attend the dinner.

Obviously Gordon was far more interested in his 15 minute kitchen summit with Obama.

subrosa,

The mention of "conscience" to Brown is probably the same as displaying the cross to a vampire.

Many years ago Private Eye produced Mrs Wilson's diary which contaned prodies of poetry. I remember one which started;

Hail the conquering hero comes
Brave harold, proud and good
The people wave and lift their thumbs to signify their mood.

It ends

And babes unborn will lisp his name
The saviour of the pound.

I've lost the full version but change Harold to Gordon and it fits gey well.

What a memory Richard, well done.

What rubbish poetry she wrote - my literary teacher would pull it to bits!
