Why is it called Swine Flu?

Because Pig Flu would be too "funny" for a serious illness and the Americans would not understand what Porcine meant.

Thanks Furious, I saw that earlier. The one I posted was sent to me by one of my readers who doesn't blog. I really must ask if they'd like me to name them. Will go and do that now.

They're great though these efforts aren't they. Shows we still have a sense of humour.
