NHS Outside Catering

One of my eagle-eyed reliable readers sent me the following quote from the paper edition of the current Private Eye.

'Why has Edinburgh Royal Infirmary decided to set up temporary operating surgeries in its grounds?

Surely not because the ludicrously expensive private finance initiative financed hospital doesn't have enough beds?

In addition to the PFI consortium, Lothian health board, which runs the hospital, has been forced to call for another for-profit health company, Vanguard Healthcare, to set up two "mobile surgical theatres" so the hospital can reduce its waiting list.  Brilliant!'

There's an article concerning NHS Database Abuse in the online edition which may be of interest to you too.  I found it harrowing what's going on without our consent or knowledge.

Christ Scotland is fast becoming a third world country. NHS Data Base? Disgusting! I wonder how long before they sell access to insurance companies?

Morning Madame,

Great article, glad my docs over the last 23 years are on crapy bits of A5 stuffed into a buff file, sitting in cabinet. We have digitised records in the Andrew but seems the NHS aren;t safeguarding them - thank feck.

I see it's a PFI beauty - wonder how long that will run - will the incoming government make all PFI contracts illegal for profiting well racketeering against the public?

One things for sure the SNP need to get it's skates on over PFI's replacement, otherwise it will look bad if SFT is delayed, doesn't work, is as bad as PFI.

Have another fine day ye ken!

What concerned me about the database scunnert is that you can't get off it once you're on.

Morning Sir, lovely morning. Yes PFI at it's worse. I'm sure Edinburgh folk could tell you horror stories about the place already.

Agree with you CD, if the SNP don't get something going like their SFT then labour will use that against them at the next election. Surely John Swinney can get something moving soon, the banks managed to go bankrupt in just a year.
