I have always thought that Barbara Dickson was a hugely under-rated singer, and this song is one of those that lodged in my brain, only to pop out and declare itself at unexpected moments. This is a lovely song (provided you remember that the caravans concerned are camel trains and not twin-axled gin palaces) and I find it quite haunting. Your post made me day. Thank you.
Barbara Dickson is a Scottish singer and as Richard says, quite possibly under-rated, but she has an enormous following. Her concerts are usually booked out.
