I chose White Slavery to read. Interesting, I knew about White slavery in the early days of USA. It's a bit tabbo to discuss...My ancesters most likly came as white slaves from England & Scotland since many came before USA was a USA.
I beleive that the White Slave traders are behind immigration in the EU since at least in Sweden 90 to 95% come in thru organized crime & smuggling and supported by imcompetience & corruption and it would not be allowed unless highly placed Swedes were profiting from it. Sweden was big in the slave trade in the good old days and I suppect if one digs a bite one will find the same families involved today that were then.
Thanks for the info...just thought I'd add a wee bit of opinion to it.
Rosie, Thanks for the link. The information about slavery was very interesting, and it is very easy to forget the extent to which white Americans came here as slaves, whether lifetime or for a set period of indenture.

Hi Mike. I thought it was interesting too because, as you say, few are prepared to discuss it.
ReplyDeleteYour knowledge of Sweden puts me to shame because I ought to know that and didn't. Thanks for the information.
