Puccini's Tosca Act 2. I was never too enamoured with Maria Callas but Gobbi's voice enthralled me. The above was recorded in 1958 and has only very recently been made available to us all via Youtube.
"Tosca" is back at the ROH as of last night (Saturday) with performances in March and July. Looks good. Baron Scarpia is much misunderstood, he only had the welfare of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies at heart.
