    May be more to that than meets the eye - I reckon GB's got an intermittent hearing problem (Jane Goody, anyone? Or his well known refusal to acknowledge words spoken while he is looking at his work?) and I know from experience that, when in public, a skilled companion can help disguise the fact completely.

    Macheath I've yet to know about that. But I have to admit it could be a problem for him because he never answers any question verbally posed.

    I didn't know that about the verbal questions - is it documented anywhere?
