Opening or is it Re-Opening?

After much talk and believe me much thought, I have decided to keep at this blogging business.

I will not be discussing any of the happenings of the past days if you don't mind, in fact the quicker I put them to the back of my mind the better for you and me or I'd bore you all to death! Suffice to say I now feel reasonably confident my safety is as assured as it can be.

Temporarily I have some willing helpers. I can't really refer to them as 'assistants' because their abilities are far above mine, but they have kindly offered their services and naturally, as any blogger would, I locked them up in a padded room complete with a luxury M & S hamper each, before they could change their minds.

For a few weeks my own posts will be reduced as I do need a rest, but I'm more than satisfied my stand-ins will delight, frustrated and perhaps even rile you. Do try to leave them a comment or two, it can get lonely in here sometimes.

On the subject of support may I thank the hundreds of you who sent messages. Your kind words and encouragement persuaded me there is a need for an older voice, particularly a female voice and no one should be silenced by threats from anyone.

Two bloggers in particular deserve a mention - the incomparable Anna Raccoon for her persuasion skills (plus top of the range hospitality) and the incredibly tenacious WhollyRude who, with her IT skills, has put her blog at risk to help with on-going investigations. They know without them I wouldn't have returned. My gratitude to both of you. Yes I know they are both female so that's another one for the l-ist and I'm not ignoring the contributions of top class English bloggers.

I'm ploughing my way through messages and I will reply. Should I omit you for any reason a reprimand will not offend - feel free.

Standards must be kept, mustn't they?

So sit back, who knows what's going to develop here? If nothing else I'll continue to state my opinion of any particular situation that develops throughout the UK and beyond. That is my right.

  22. You know that your very welcome back.

Now get the other slaves to do the work for a week or two and I am sure that you writing hand will start to inch.

Subconsciously I know that I need to write when I scratch my left buttock with my right hand.

Must be religious or something. Oh dear, the self righteous troll will be spitting blood and referring me to the Peoples' Friend.

  25. A welcome return!

Speaking feministically, we can't afford to lose any of those women writers we have to greasy-keyboarded inquisitors.

    Joyeux Noël!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well here's another wifie to throw in to the ring, so it would appear that the activities of certain greasy-keyboarded inquisitors have spectacularly backfired. We are merely growing in number and strength!

Hello Subrosa, really nice to see you back again. I only joined this blogging business because of you.

Looking forward to further cyber communications!

  30. Delighted to see that normal service is resumed. Terrific!

But hark.... do I detect the whiff of scorched feathers - could it be that someone has cooked their own goose a little unwisely before the festive season?

  31. What a nice surprise to see you back, Subrosa.

  35. This might all have backfired badly for the Herald, NoW and Labour. You can probably count on a lot more help now (disclaimer: even though I don't agree with you about practically everything).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thank you all. The return is the result of powerful persuasion and speedy actions of excellent professionals.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Vronsky, I know you don't agree with me about much, if anything, but I'm more than happy to publish any thoughts you do have on any subject.

This medium should be used for all sides of the debate and we should make the most of it.

  38. Just read the good news (we run on West Highland time here in Lochaber). Glasses are even now being raised in your honour.

  39. Auch Tcheuchter, I'm becoming embarrassed now, but I thank you for your flattering comments.

  40. Huzzah!

    Welcome back!

I knew this great day would come, like 1945 after the grim days of 1940...

Sorry, a bit late with this, but Mon and Tues have been blogging-lite for me!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Auch Jess, that's kind of you to go to the trouble of writing. Many thanks.

Hope it's not bad health that's kept you quiet.

  42. I've only just realised you're back! I should stay in more. I have an excuse in that it's very dark way up North at the moment so it can be hard to see the screen.

Welcome home, and keep those fingers tapping!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Many thanks LI, very kind of you. It is dark way up north here too, not quite as far as you of course. I'm beginning to long for the 20 hour daylight days of summer, but we're nearly at the cusp, so onwards and upwards we go.

    I'll do my best.
