Well done Joanna, keep up the good work. Seems the Government rejected residence applications for 5 Gurkhas under the 'old rules' on the very day that 'new rules' ( thanks to Ms Lumley ) have been promised. How stupid is that ?
I saw this on the news and that minister a joke. He wont be in a job for long, not after been dragged by the nose like a bad little school boy by the head teacher.
Good on Joanna for making sure she got the most from him.
I once knew Phil Woolas well - I was President of NUS Scotland when he was President of NUSUK - both Labour Students at the time.
I say this not with hindsight, but I thought it at the time he was a total chancer, a man on the make. He makes Jim Murphy ( who was both President of NUS Scotland later NUSUK), look principled - though they are both essentially off the same Nulab production block, if seperated by a decasde or so.
Woolas as Immigration minister? I knew his views even as a 20 something, operating in a radicalised environment - believe me, one of Brown's worst ever appointments. I guess even he now knows this.
Johana Lumley could have both Woolas and Murphy ( and Brown!) for breakfast. Indeed , once she's finished with Phil, Scotland should send for the Avenger!
Nothing like making yourself look like a donkey without a "brief" to hide behind.
Funny, because I see how this all works from my end of Defence and seeing these dweebs spoon fed info - whichc comes from multiple gifted, bright and engaged people. Formed into a brief whihc is usually changed into party spin and then either leaked to the media, lobby luvers or a statement given to The House.
Well done Miss Lumley - time these arses resigned and left while there is a small shred of dignity left and that's usually in the back benches.
Ah Scunnert so happy you understood the title. I don't know why I thought of it but perhaps there's a similar scene in the film. True, smashing film but the today's youngster might think it's not 'fast' enough for them. It was the perfect balance between action and brain power for me.
Spook he's been in the job far too long and shouldn't have been there in the first place. I think AWC has a post somewhere about the bloke and it sums him up.
Morning AWC, sad to say it doesn't surprise me in the least to hear that. There will be so many labour party members birling in their graves when they think of the standard of heid bummers they have nowadays.
I thought it was interesting that Joanna called him Mr, and he called her Joanna. What is it with these people and their sense of superiority? He also was talking to someone else while Joanna was speaking.
Still she wiped the floor with him...
... and Mr Brown.... she won't go away, so don't think for a minute she will.
Well done Joanna, keep up the good work.

Great Film.

Joanna for PM! I'd vote for her.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics - but the video is even better!

ReplyDeleteMorning banned, I think the letters have been withdrawn now as incorrect. Did you hear Phil Woolas last night? What an excuse for a politician.
ReplyDeleteSpook he's been in the job far too long and shouldn't have been there in the first place. I think AWC has a post somewhere about the bloke and it sums him up.
ReplyDeleteConan it's nothing below the belt. If it was the spineless oaf would have passed out.

ReplyDeleteMorning Furious, I too would vote for her but I'd also like elocution lessons from her. Her verbal timing is perfect.
ReplyDeleteMorning FC another day of rain here. Had enough now for a while.
ReplyDeleteGood to know the MOD Whitehall hasn't changed in 40 years CD, it was exactly the same when I worked with them.
ReplyDeleteMind you, I was able to wear wide sleeves to laugh up in my day :)
Have a good day :)
My score would be Lumley 10 Woolas 0 fido, but then I'm an admirer of strong women, being one myself of course :)

She really shows this crew up as being totally inept and at sixes and seventh over this issue.
ReplyDeleteMind you, I'd look pretty excited if she was sitting next to me. I wonder if she fancies a nice meal?
Email her and ask brownlie. After all you have the perfect credentials ;)
ReplyDeleteMiss Lumley has a house near Thornhill, Dumfrieshire. My missus and I got hitched there. Totally irrelevant to the topic but there ya go!
ReplyDeleteI know why you agreed to the venue Rab, say no more ;) Did she appear though? lol
ReplyDeleteI think brownlie would prefer to ask her ahem, orally.
